The Rev. Russell D. Peek, Pastor
Pastor Russell has been pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church since June 2008. A native of Columbia, SC, he is a graduate of Winthrop University and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. In addition to his regular preaching, teaching, visiting, and other duties at Emmanuel, he serves on the Adult Catechumenate Task Force and Campus Ministry Committee of the South Carolina Synod. When he’s not at Emmanuel, Pastor Russell enjoys music, reading books, bowling, and spending time with his wife, Caroline.

The Rev. Elford A. Roof, Pastor for Visitation
Pastor Roof has a long history with Emmanuel. He was baptized, confirmed, and ordained at Emmanuel. After faithfully serving the wider church in parish ministry, Pastor Roof now serves as a part-time pastor for visitation. In addition to his ministry of visitation, he also teaches our Wednesday morning Bible study and works with our evangelism committee.

Suzanne Ervolina, Parish Adminstrator
Suzanne joined the staff in January 2010. She handles many of the day-to-day operations of Emmanuel and serves as the hub for most ministries. She wears many hats at Emmanuel. Suzanne works directly with the property committee and greets all who come to Emmanuel during the week.

Don Whiteley, Choir Director
Don is a graduate of Newberry College and directs our adult choir. He has also arranged and written several anthems, which are regularly sung by our choir in worship. He serves on the Worship, Music, and the Arts committee of the South Carolina Synod and is an avid participant at Music Week at Lutheridge. He is married to Mary, our organist.

Mary Whiteley, Organist
Mary has over 30 years experience of playing the organ and piano in congregations. A graduate of Newberry College, Mary blesses us with her musical talents. She works directly with our worship and music committee and provides vital leadership for all our music ministries.
